Errors We Make – Part I

One of the most common mistakes we make is try and change something/anything by plunging ahead without buy-in from upper management and employees and missing the mark in creating the sense of urgency.  When complacency levels are high, we miserably fail in this. Time and again we have seen many smart individuals who fail to create sufficient amount of urgency in the beginning of a transformation, project or change for many different but interconnected reasons. Most of the time we underestimate how hard it is to move people out of their comfort zones, and fail to recognize how our own actions can unintentionally reinforce the status quo.

At times we lack patience, and in this we cause people being defensive, we confuse urgency with anxiety and so we push people deeper into hiding and create even more so resistance.
This is the first part of few errors we make on the path of our changes.  More to follow…..
